Cal Quantrill is sticking in the Lone Star State.
The Canadian right-hander agreed to return to the Texas Rangers on a minor-league contract on Thursday, according to the Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant.
The deal includes an invite to big-league spring training.
Quantrill finished out his 2025 campaign on a minor-league deal with the Rangers. After signing the contract in early September, the 30-year-old right-hander made two appearances with the club's triple-A affiliate, posting a 1.64 ERA and racking up 14 strikeouts.
Before landing with Texas, Quantrill pitched with both the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves.
In two starts with the Braves, the Port Hope, Ont., native allowed 12 runs and struck out three in eight innings of work.
Atlanta claimed Quantrill off waivers from the Miami Marlins in August.
Before joining the Braves, the 30-year-old made 24 starts for Miami, pitching to a 5.50 ERA with 82 strikeouts over 109.2 innings.
Quantrill is expected to pitch for Team Canada at the upcoming World Baseball Classic.
The son of longtime big-leaguer Paul, Cal is trying to pitch in his eighth MLB season in 2026.
Originally a first-round pick of the Padres in 2016, Cal has spent time in the majors with San Diego, Cleveland, Colorado, Miami and Atlanta.
